Introducing Dr. Manjit Gauba

It was time to do something different...suffering from low back pain may have seemed minor to the medical doctor but constant pain was making my life miserable.  My chiropractic doctor raised my awareness about my spine and nervous system, its role in my health and how to remain healthy.  In the course of treatment he not only relieved my pain but transformed my health philosophy.

Dr. Manjit Gauba

Chiropractic has a strong health philosophy in which the true health potential of the individual is expressed by allowing the nervous system to function without any interference.  It respects our innate ability to heal.  This concept carries more value in my heart than attempting to pursue health with synthetic means (drugs).  When I had to overcome low back pain in my youth, Chiropractic's clinical effectiveness solidified my career choice.

After my undergraduate studies at the University of Alberta, I was fortunate enough to land in lovely Southern California.  Four more years of some challenging schooling saw me graduating as a Chiropractic Doctor from Southern California University of Health Sciences.  Working and treating people was so much better than sitting in the anatomy labs with inanimate cadavers, but I will always miss the exciting student life in one of the most exciting places in the world.  After a couple of years in practice, I got hit by the student bug again, and I went on to complete a Master's in Health Psychology on a part-time basis.  Although it took me another four years to complete that degree it matured me as a health professional and it solidified my confidence in Chiropractic and Mind-Body medicine.  My degree's focus was on Chronic health conditions and it forced me to realize my potential as a health educator.

I aspire to be a leader in the Canadian health care landscape.  My mission is to inspire my Edmonton area patients and raise their consciousness about their health.  My focus is not simply to treat pain but to provide a healing experience that includes the most thorough assessment, the most diligent care and to do so in a warm, loving and supportive environment.  The most deeply fulfilling aspect of practice is to witness the transformation of persons as they regain their life by achieving a better functioning body.

I am married and spend every millisecond of my non-chiropractic time with my two sons: Aman and Amit.  Aman is three and Amit is one.  My wife and I are still wondering where our leisure time is...

My Chiropractor has me on a wellness treatment plan.  I see him once a week that focuses on keeping me active for my occupation.  I take multivitamins daily, and I have not taken an antibiotic or prescription medicine since the day I got treated eight years ago.  The principle that 'health comes from within' is applicable for me as well.

Dr. Gauba Asks some important questions of interest to Edmonton residents - Chiropractor Edmonton Dr. Gauba Asks...

Why are frequent visits advised when starting chiropractic care?
Consistent visits at the beginning of your chiropractic care help create the momentum necessary to correct and retrain unhealthy spinal patterns. Later, Edmonton patients find that continued care on a less frequent visit schedule can help preserve their progress and avoid a relapse.
How do most people deal with subluxations?
First, they try to ignore them. When they don't, they go to the medicine cabinet to stop their brain from feeling the symptom. Later, back surgery may be threatened. Sadly, it's not until this later stage that they consult our Edmonton chiropractic office. Yet, even with the delay, most are delighted by the results produced by today's chiropractic care. Contact us and let's get started.
